The interest in Greenland gets a bit deeper each year. Some is new-found, brought on by the realization that as the earth warms up many features of the Arctic are rapidly changing. The history of exploration, migration and settlement gets some attention as that knowledge grows. The indigenous culture in Greenland has been maintaining its ancient traditions as many Inuit elsewhere have not, and that gets some attention.
The travel and the tourist industries are at a level to make exploring their land go quite smoothly and English is quite commonly spoken. We've been in Greenland a few times (almost all of the photos on this site are snapshots from our travels in Greenland) and we've been working with Greenland's outfitters and have been sending travelers there for five or six years. We can get you to Greenland directly from the US or you can go through Iceland. |
